Description
What is a blind rivet nut?
A blind rivet nut is a metal threaded bushing with a collar that allows for a sturdy internal thread to be obtained in very thin sheet material, tubes or profiles.
The blind rivet nut is deformed using a manual tool, electric or a pneumatic gun for blind rivet nuts by pulling the internal thread away from the collar after this blind rivet nut has been placed in the provided hole in the sheet. Once the blind rivet nut is riveted, the threaded rod of the tool must be unscrewed. In this way, an internal thread can be provided "blindly" in thin sheet, in other words, without accessing both sides of the sheet.
This makes it the ideal solution for pipes and profiles.
The aluminium rivet nuts from Specialinsert®, type Deform Nut® are available with countersunk head (type AFH) from M4 innerthread up to M8 for sheet thicknesses from 1,6 up to 6,0mm, while the APH type with flat head available is for sheet thicknesses from 0,50up to 6,0mm.
