The self tapping insert with 3 holes is a self cutting hardened steel threaded bushing that can cut its own thread in the receiving material because of the combination of the 3 cutting holes with the special outer thread. This results in a wear-resitant internal thread that can be subjected to heavier loads and is still relatively short.

Description
This self tapping insert with 3 blind holes can cut it's own thread in the pre-drilled hole thanks to the combination of the 3 blind self tapping cutting bores and the special (non-metric) outerthread with smaller thread angle. This blind version garantuees that no metal residu/chips can block the receved innerthread.
Best mounted in a countersunk and pre-drilled hole in materials with higher shearing strength such as duroplastic material, aluminium, HPL and other composites or re-enforced plastics.
This self tapping insert with 3 holes can also be the ideal solution for innerthread repair in those materials.
There are 2 versions of the self tapping insert with 3 holes; the shorter version allows an installation in thinner panels and shorter blind holes.
Why a self tapping insert with 3 blind holes?
The self tapping insert with 3 blind holes can be mounted in a pre-drilled hole (without pre-cutting or tapping the thread) with a manual tool 610 or the mechanical version 620, both hold the innerthread of the insert, so that the self cutting outerthread can be screwed into the hole. This way, the anchoring is very firm because of the larger outer diameter of the bushing, resulting in higher pull-out values in the softer receiving material and very wear resistant because the bushing is made of hardened steel or stainless steel.
The blind cutting holes garantuee that teh innerthread is free of chips and re-assembly of the mounted bolt is never an issue.
