The box self cutting slotted inserts has a selection of selftapping inserts with cutting slot from M3 innerthread up to M16 in hardened steel zinc plating but can also be tailored made with any combination of types, material and quantities.

The tools are not included in the box self tapping slotted inserts but for small quantities, these can also be mounted by a handyman without a tool. In case you need a manual tool for screw inserts or a more professional mechanical tool for screw inserts, both are stock items!

Description

Why use a self cutting slotted insert?

The self tapping slotted insert can be mounted in a pre-drilled hole without pre-cutting or tapping the thread by the use of a manual tool 610 or the mechanical version 620, both hold the innerthread of the insert, so that the self cutting outerthread can be screwed into the hole. This way, the anchoring is very firm because of the larger outer diameter of the bushing resulting in higher pull-out values in the softer receiving material and very wear resistant because the bushing is made of hardened steel or stainless steel.

Self tapping insert for aluminium?

You can use the self cutting slotted inserts in light alloy, but theory teaches us that "materials that are more difficult to machine" are better served with a self-tapping insert with 3 holes because then there is no deformation during mounting, much less tension is left around the insert and less force is needed to screw it in the pre-drilled hole therefor the tool remains more wear-resistant.

Available in steel zinc plated, brass, stainless steel 303 and 316 from M2 up to M24!
