Which insert is the easiest to apply and the most powerful for application in wood?

The self forming insert, type SKD, is fixed with an allen key (hexagonal bit) into the pre-drilled hole. Thanks to the unthreaded lead at the beginning of the outerthread, it automatically follows the axe of the drilled hole.

Moreover, it has a chamferred collar which provides at the same time a nice sealing cover of the hole and serves as a stop during the mounting so they are always mounted at the same depth.

Recently, this type has a new version, the SKD30 for mid hardnesses wich has a more pronounced and thinner outerthread that cuts easier into the harder types of wood.

These inserts are available from M4 up to M12 in unhardened steel, brass, stainless steel 303 and even stainless steel 316Ti.
